Farm Workday Guidelines
One of the aspects of the Fair Share
Farm CSA that most members enjoy the most is their work shift at the farm.
To make your morning at the farm safe and enjoyable, please take the time
to read our farm guidelines.
Farm
Work Schedule 2010
Forget what day you signed up to come out to the farm to help us harvest? A copy
of the schedule is here.
It is your responsibility to find a replacement if you cannot make your shift.

Partner
and Specialty Vendor Info
Fair Share Farm CSA seeks to benefit both its members by connecting
them with local sources for healthy
food not available through the CSA and to help local
farmers who follow sustainable and/or organic
growing practices reach those consumers who most value their products.
CSA Core Group member Kathi Whitman works as a liaison to find
and interview prospective vendors interested in supplying our members
and to coordinate how to help those
farmers meet CSA member and Fair Share Farm (FSF) distribution needs.
At present, FSF offers two types of vendor opportunities: Partner Vendors
and Specialty Vendors. A detailed description of this program, is available
here. A summary is presented below.
Partner Vendors
A Partner Vendor supplies a predetermined, pre-ordered
“
share” on a regular basis to FSF distribution sites. Current
Partner Vendors are Parker Farms (meat, poultry, eggs)
and Bread of Life (bread, rolls, granola, pizza crust).
These vendors can choose to supply weekly, every other
week, or monthly and set the price and product limitations
they need for a “share.” Members sign up for these
predetermined shares based on their selected distribution
site and contract with the vendors directly at Spring
Sign-up. Partner Vendors handle all packaging and
delivery to distribution site(s).
Parker
Farms Egg
and Meat Shares

eating? Sign up for meat and egg shares from Parker Farms.
These shares can be ordered from Parker Farms, and will be distributed
with the Fair Share Farm produce. Click

Bread
of Life Bread Shares
Want to further expand your local eating?

ordered
from Bread of Life, and will be distributed with the Fair Share Farm produce.

Specialty Vendors
A Specialty Vendor supplies product to CSA members on
an “as-available, as-ordered” basis. When these vendors
have produce or other product to offer to FSF members,
they can communicate that nformation through the Farm’s
weekly blog. More info here.
General
Info
Brochure
We look forward to our members letting
other people know the benefits of joining the Fair Share Farm CSA. You
can spread the word with our brochure.
Crops List
At Fair Share Farm we have taken on
the task of growing as many different fruits and vegetables as possible,
to provide our members with a flavorful and interesting mix in their
weekly share. This produce selection is based on input from our members,
growing conditions at the farm, and our attempts to create a nice balance
of seasonal fare.
Wish
List
We are in the process of purchasing our equipment for 2010. The Core Group
has suggested that we circulate a Wish
List to the membership for some of the types of items folks may have around
the house that they want to get rid of anyway. If there is anything else that
comes up in your new year’s cleaning that you think could help us at
the farm, let us know. If you have any questions, contact
us.
Bulk
List
Bulk items for the week are now posted on our blog.
Check out the "What's in
The Share" section.
